Gain the Willing Cooperation of Others

Hope you are all enjoying your break!

In class we have talked about how important it is for us to gain the willing cooperation of others. Over the past couple of weeks we have been working with our selected person to gain their cooperation. On Tuesday when you get back from break we will be giving our 2 minute reports with what we were able to accomplish.

Page 7.4 in the manual shows principles 10-21. They are:

10) The only wat to get the best of an argument is to avoid it
11) Show respect for the other person's opinion. Never say, "You're wrong"
12) If you are wrong, admit it quickly and empathetically
13) Begin in a friendly way
14) Get the other person saying "yes, yes" immediately
15) Let the other person do a great deal of the talking
16) Let the other person feel that the idea is his or hers
17) Try honestly to see things from the other person's point of view
18) Be sympathetic with the other person's ideas and desires
19) Appeal to nobler motives
20) Dramatize your ideas
21) Throw down a challenge

On Tuesday, pick one incident where you were able to use one of these principles successfully. We heard some great success stories in class on Thursday, think of those examples as you go forward.

Enjoy the rest of your break! Any questions? Leave them here!
